林木基因工程育种
采用分子生物学技术，克隆控制杨树和落叶松生长发育及抗逆等性状的调控基因和功能基因，通过转基因等方法验证其功能，揭示基因的作用机理，为通过生物技术定向改造林木的性状提供技术支持和理论依据。
林木细胞工程
利用体细胞胚发生途径建立落叶松和红皮云杉等针叶树种的无性繁殖体系，开展体细胞胚的悬浮培养和生物反应器培养苗木工厂化生产体系建立研究。

2004年于韩国江原大学农学学科，获博士学位。
